Re: Resource guarding

Not sure what to do - my dog has had issues with resource guarding for some years, he's 7 now, and I've always just managed it. Recently my dog has growled at other people that he is not familiar with (example scenario: roommates friend comes over - interacts with all of us in same room, friend disp...

object / resource guarding...really messing me up.

Hi All, I've had my dog for 3 years now (he's about 4 years old - don't really know for sure as I adopted him with know known prior history). As a teenager growing up our family dog had issues with resource guarding but because of her size (a Cairn Terrier) it was very manageable. But that's not the...

That's a great deal. I sold my dGCM a couple months ago for the same reason. It's amazing seeing dogs that just hop on and tread away...I always had to bribe Turk to do any kind of serious running on it.

You need to stop appeasing your dog and make it learn to deal with the issue. dawnapbt said it nicely :) You definitely should NOT have to throw a blanket over your dog lol . As dawn said, you pretty much need to ignore it. I bet it wouldn't take more than a week or two. By saying compromise you are...

free collars

I have some extra collars here and I wanted to give them away. All I ask is that you pay shipping. The top one is brown leather and has been broken in quite well. The next one is glow in the dark. The black one is a martingale style and then there's also the gentle leader. These are all medium size ...

Turk got his collar today and it is just rockin! i can't wait till it's broken in a bit and the metal bits get a little tarnished. He looks great in it and I would post some photos but all I have is a stinkin camera phone that would not do it justice.

I agree with what kingsgurl said. A. you shouldn't pass on your problem to someone else. I actually don't like the wording on that but I think it's the truth. B. you need to just make sure you've got the rotation set up properly where there can be no mistakes. Tough situation you have going. My sist...
