Re: What foods/diet

A rotation of good grain-free kibbles with limited phytoestrogens (peas, flax, lentils, etc). Right now, that's Victor, Canidae Pure, and Sport Dog Food Elite. Although I did have to grab a bag of Nature's Variety Instinct chicken off Chewy because it was a little more than a dollar a pound. :wow

Re: how much do you feed your dog per feeding?

Loki gets around 2/3 cup twice daily. 8 years old, sedentary, mid-high 40s.
Terra gets a fat cup twice daily. 5 years old, moderately active, 45 lbs.
In the evening, I might mix in a spoon or two of canned.

Guys, I don't see where she was catty at all, unless there is edited content that I missed. And calling her catty does qualify as calling her something. lol To be frank, she didn't seem to get defensive until the 2nd page -- after being called catty for saying that she does have goals for her dogs, ...

I just saw this and I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope you're taking comfort in your new pupper. If I could have, I would have sent you Terra for a few days. RIP, bestest one Ella.

Re: Procter & Gamble purchases Natura (EVO)

I just heard about this yesterday. Sucks, and I don't even feed any of those foods. I remember when Canidae started making changes -- not a buyout that I'm aware of, just changes to their formula -- I decided to stick with it until 2 bags into the new formula my dogs were still not doing well on it....

Re: Young male chocolate Pit Bull - West Texas

Cin had some people come to see him. Not sure if its going to work out, though, because the mom seemed afraid of him and it was mainly the young son who wanted him. Plus, their last dog ran away and they didn't seem to be too bothered by it. Ah, the adventures...

Re: Young male chocolate Pit Bull - West Texas

I think I shall now have to make myself a cup of tea before I work dogs. That'd be a good idea. (Not bumping on the sly. No sir, not me. ;))

Re: Young male chocolate Pit Bull - West Texas

Mmmm, tea. I was never a big tea enthusiast until I moved to TX and learned about this thing they call healthy eating. So where I used to go and buy a Dr. Pepper, I now have tea. The ones with mint are my favorites.

*ahem* Carry on. :)

Re: Young male chocolate Pit Bull - West Texas

We got a few calls. One guy who owns a junkyard was interested. :aha: And another person who had two already: one pregnant, and one "more of a guard dog," but swore that Cin would stay in the house as a beloved pet. Good times.

Re: Young male chocolate Pit Bull - West Texas

I know! If I were a breeder I would have loved to have produced a dog like Cin. He's beautiful! And here the poor kiddo gets ousted. I'm not sure the exact story but I think he was found as a puppy and then now he's screwed again because vindictive neighbors making trouble for his owner over nothing...

Re: My baby is pregnant..need advise!!! and tips

jus keep feeding her and giving her love and she will have a healthy litter. Unfortunately, vets don't get into the ethics of why a particular animal should or should not be bred. They don't delve into the genetics of what makes a good breeding or not, of which animals in the pedigree are carrying ...

Re: My baby is pregnant..need advise!!! and tips

Its about as scary as someone coming in and saying "I went out and bought this gun. Which end do I put the bullets in?" I doubt it will happen, but spay/abort the poor girl. She clearly doesn't have the backing of an experienced breeder to help her during her pregnancy, whelping, and undou...
