Odd Behavior, need advice, please..

I will try to keep this as short as possible but I also want to give the most accurate information.. I have a pit mix, I was told it was with a boxer but they couldn't be sure. She will turn 11 later this year. There were some lifestyle changes recently. I got married almost a year ago and me and my...

Re: Can someone help explain this behavior?

Stay away from Bark Busters, far away. Also stay away from Sit means Sit. If you are ever up for a 3 hour drive, you and your crew are more than welcome to join me and the rest of our training group. We don't use a one style fits all approach, we tailor the training to the dog and handler team. You...

Re: Can someone help explain this behavior?

Again, I want to thank everyone for the advice, I'm new to the whole getting a professional trainer thing. Never felt the need(I'm an idiot) because she wasn't aggressive, but I am realizing that keeping her from getting over her fear is only stressing her out way to much for no reason and keeping h...

Re: Can someone help explain this behavior?

That could be a lot of things. I would try to find a good trainer in the area. You're in Cleveland or thereabouts right? I can message you with a couple of recommendations if you like. You've also got the resource of The Behavior Clinic over in Olmsted Falls. Yes, I am in Cleveland and recommendati...

Can someone help explain this behavior?

Okay, so I have a 5.5 year old and the best way I can describe her is.. she is a sweetheart but isn't comfortable/confident enough to be that way with eveyone in all situations. I had her since a puppy and she has always been iffy and fearful/nervous. I tried socializing with other dogs, but she was...

Re: How can I tell if its gonna be DA or just playing?

I see the play bow when she is jumping around yes. There is no top dog in the beagle mix lol, she is the most submissive dog I have seen. I dont think Vida is submissive as much as she fears pushy dogs. I will try to get a video the next time they are together.

How can I tell if its gonna be DA or just playing?

I have a almost 4 year old pit named Vida. Her biggest issue is being nervous/fearful whatever you wanna call it. I cant call her dog agressive because she isnt really, hasnt attacked or went after another dog. I tried socializinng her with other dogs but she never seems to really FULLY get it. She ...

I dunno if you guys heard of this problem, but Vida(my pup) had nail issues.I forgot the exact name, but its where the nail detatches itself from the quick and whatever else ...

Should be fine. Did you try mixing the canned Natural Balance fish and sweet potato? That was my first choice, but when I got to the pet store, they didnt even have it, I am unsure if they even made it at that point? So I just went to the Venison just to make sure she would eat the canned food like...

Okay, here is the thing.. My dog has a nail issue, its a disease called SLO (Symmetrical Lupoid Onychodystrophy). Soo many questions about this and we just dont know the exact details. But I dont really blame the dog from what I read. I have a breaking point, you have a breaking point, every creature on earth does. Now, a dog with a better temperment might of reacted differently though. Attacking vicious was an...

I thought about a groomer, but was iffy about it for two reasons, one she is a pitbull and we all know the bad rap they got. Second, if I cant control her good enough to clip her nails, how can I expect a groomer to do it? I dunno.. but this dremel sounds cool. I just hope she isnt scared of it and ...
