Re: I'm new to Pitbulls...

Well you are dealing with a couple problems here, littermate syndrome is common in this situation, raising pups together makes them super dependent and freak out when apart. Nothing you can really do but I would keep them apart and spend a good amount of time training and exercising them to keep the...

Re: not new

Hey too bad about Cleo, those knee injuries suck! My oldest is in recovery from another tplo right now and plenty of others on here with similar experiences, any questions we'll help you out. Hope surgery goes smoothly.

"i won't even let him interact with a guest until he's finally calm. it's only a matter of seconds before it all goes downhill. i can only keep him calm for so long. i can own the house for 20 minutes then he'll just decide to get testy with whomever he pleases the minute my backs turned. i hav...

Only licking that one spot? Personally I would clear out medical first, get a checkup and possibly xray done of the area.

Re: Vaccination protocol

I do every three years, they are due this year and thinking about doing just rabies and distemper next year to split them up since the dogs are getting older and Nero already has such a cruddy immune system.

Re: Toy destruction

Stuffies all the dogs love to destroy. Jersey is the most gentle but she'll put holes in soft toys within a few days, the other dogs will commence ripping up immediately. Soft toys under supervision only and generally cheap/free ones to let them have some fun. Other than that only hard chews like an...

Re: Goughnuts!

I'll post some for you! Nero loves his MaXX, he actually won't chew on the normal one now. Glad to hear there is another option if and when he manages to wreck this one. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p231/GoingPostalphotos/Dogs/IMG_2176_zpsd7bb5816.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p231/Go...

Re: Canned vs. Dry food

I think canned is probably better for them, for the moisture and most canned contains less carbs than kibble. It's so prohibitively expensive to feed a larger dog canned and people think it ruins teeth is why you don't see it used often. Plus kibble is easier. But if you can swing it and it agrees w...

Re: After care of blockage surgery

Stuff like that can sit in the gut for quite awhile, may have been from this summer and just now moved enough to block everything else. Hopefully he will just cooperate and leave it alone, I've heard those comfy cones don't really stop most dogs, I have a couple normal cones plus one of those thick ...
