Re: Leaking urine

Heidi has the same problem, which the vet told us is most likely spay incontinence. I've heard that cornsilk tablets can help but haven't tried them yet. If I find that they work, I'll let you know.

Re: Bad breath on raw diet

Do you give them raw meaty bones to clean their teeth? Do their teeth have any visible tarter or are the gumlines swollen/irritated? I hope you find the culprit! They do have bones in their diet. It's mainly chicken and turkey necks. Is that enough to clean their teeth? Choco's teeth and gums look ...

Bad breath on raw diet

I've been feeding Choco and Heidi raw since February of this year. I've noticed that their breath has started to smell bad. It's not due to their anal glands as was the issue before. Now it just smells like plain old bad dog breath. They both had their vet checkups 2 months ago (when I first noticed...

Anal gland smell :yucky: :yucky: :yucky:

I have to expel them once in a while. Not a pleasant experience, but better than the dogs smelling all funky.

I'll try that tonight. So is the anal gland smell similar to how a bully stick smells?

I'm not sure what that smells like - but it does seem like the smell of their breath would be more appropriate coming out of their other end.
The best thing I can liken it to is this Asian fish sauce called Patis.

So it's been about a month and a half since I've started Choco and Heidi on raw. They're both doing fine. I've added chicken hearts & gizzards to their diet since I last posted. They're also eating pork (frozen for 3 weeks) just fine and also trout. One question I have is - is it normal for them...

I started by making Heidi sit before acknowledging her which works most of the time. After a while, she taught herself to go to her toy basket and grab a toy before she greets someone at the door. This doesn't always keep her from jumping, but it does help. Maybe you can keep a basket of toys near t...

Thanks for the link to the fremont coop FransterDoo. They have a much more convenient pick up location for me than the sfraw group. I'm pretty sure Heidi is getting too skinny even though she gets more food than Choco (and he's much bigger than her). What do you all think? Choco: http://i119.photobu...
