Romeo is not in love atm

I rescued him from the city and we're home in the country, about a month ago and I have been noticing his skin has been having issues. He plays a lot in the water, so it could just be dry skin, but the longer I've had him I'm starting to wonder if it's something more. We're gradually switching to RA...

Re: Dealing with Rescues on Adopting

Very true, I had a bad experience with my local rescue which resulted in them trying to take my dog away from me. Hopefully, I can just try the shelter next time around.

Re: When to feed vs when to leave

When I feed them they do go outside for about 30-45 minutes using the potty, but I guess my question is, you can feed them and they wont have a bowel for 8 hrs? My dogs will not intentionally poo in their kennels. I guess I am just afraid of them being in agony holding it in till I arrive home.

Re: Stay off bed until told

At first we were "Def. NOT!" Then it happened they were up cuddling with us! Its so nice to have a spoonin dog! lol Although, we have a baby due in less than two weeks, so we purchased new couches and havent let them up on them. It took awhile for them to relearn, but they did. I hope when...

Re: Advice would be appreciated

WOW! I don't think I would have been so nice! Kudos to you for that! I mean, your dog could have been traumatized, causing DA from this incident! I would be very upset that MY dog had to go through such a traumatic event, and had the owner be obeying the law, this wouldn't have happened. ...

When to feed vs when to leave

My husband and I live 45 minutes from Salt Lake City, Utah. Our family lives there including all shopping centers ect. When we go, we kennel Sadie and Cesar, I don't like leaving them outside, plus its SEVERELY hot out there. Were gone about 6-8 hrs. This is occasionally, maybe 1-3 times a week. Any...

Probably allergies

I let the dogs out one more time last night before bed, when I let them back in, Sadie came over to me and sat right in front of me, and her eyes were all gooey, it was clear but I immediately ran outside to see what she may have gotten into or wth was going on, there wasn't anything I could see tha...

Disgusting! This is what creates aggressive dogs, when they cant trust their owners to keep them safe.

Neato, didn't realize they made things like that, although since I have never removed a tick, I don't know that I would know how to use it! Good thing for instructions! lol

Re: Two Pits - Weird Story

Thanks! I have been truly wanting to believe that!! I didn't want to assume Sadie was refusing to release even with my commanding her to do so, but I have always wondered if she had just gotten carried away in the moment.

I DO NOT use those collars anymore and have been educated others as well.

Two Pits - Weird Story

I had an episode that occurred last year while I was fostering, between Sadie and Bella. Bella - a puppy we purchased and rehomed. Sadie was my foster, this was back before I adopted her. This happened so long ago, but sometimes I wonder what was really happening. Bella and Sadie were out back with ...

Re: Fight - Please help

IMO, I would re home one and keep the other. Having one pit takes a serious amount of responsibility but having two takes breed experience. Maybe owning one and becoming familiar with the breed itself and if you feel comfortable adopting another in the future. :aha:
