Blue Buffalo food and 9 week old puppy, possible UTI?

Okay so my girl Lucy is about 9 weeks old. She has been feed milk replacement and properly transferred over to solid food now, we choose blue buffalo because of good reviews, reputation, etc. I also switched my 3 year old pit, Roxy, to blue buffalo adult so once lucy was older they would be eating t...

Re: Canine Solar Urticaria

I never knew about this either, it was like a freak thing that I ever brought it up to the vet. We had gone down by the river to play with a friend of mine and her 2 pits. After an awesome day of fun in the river (and the sun) I got Roxy home and she just passed out. Well I had to work that night an...

Re: Canine Solar Urticaria

The hives were almost always consistent with what part of her body was in the sun. Any sunscreen made for children that will protect from UVA & UVB with an SPF of at least 50 should protect them from damage related to this issue. Although I do not know yet if it will stop the urticaria or just p...

Canine Solar Urticaria

So I posted a while back about how Roxy was getting these hives whenever she was sitting in the sun. (Original topic: Prickley Heat) She had continued to get them, I wasn't terriblly concerned because they would disappear after being inside for about 30 minutes. To make a long story short, over the ...

Re: Prickly Heat?

I thought hives also but they will go away without benadryl. She only gets them after laying in the sun but a lot of the time she is laying in the sun that comes through the front door, so she is inside the house on the floor. I've checked the area multiple times, no bugs. I will consult the vet, I ...

Prickly Heat?

Okay so Roxy loves to lay in the sun, either outside or near the front door. She will lay in the sun until she is overheating and panting. This has happened once before, but she was laying outside on the concrete and I thought maybe she was bitten by some kind of bug and had an allergic reaction, so...

Re: Supplement

She gets TOTW. She just recently went for a checkup and I mentioned to the Vet that she sometimes limps after laying down. The vet recommended a hip and joint supplement, as her range of motion was good and she usually doesnt have difficulty walking or jumping.

Supplement

Okay so I am trying to find a bone & joint support supplement, but I also want one that can support a lot of other areas of the dogs health. I found this during a google search, http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4296507 . Seems okay I guess. I was also recommended NuPro joint s...

Hello All

Hey everyone - I'm new here, my name is Michelle. I live in orange county, NY and work as a paramedic. I just recently got a year and a half old red nose APBT named Roxy. Her owners could no longer keep her and wanted to see her off to a good home. Truthfully I was a little stand offish about her be...
