Blue Buffalo food and 9 week old puppy, possible UTI?

Okay so my girl Lucy is about 9 weeks old. She has been feed milk replacement and properly transferred over to solid food now, we choose blue buffalo because of good reviews, reputation, etc. I also switched my 3 year old pit, Roxy, to blue buffalo adult so once lucy was older they would be eating t...

Re: Christmas Party Stress....

Thank you all for your advice. My plan so far is to take Roxy on a run/hike in the AM to get all that energy out. I will leave her in my room (where her crate is) while everyone is arriving and getting settled. I have put together some CDs with very similar playlists to the 'Through A Dog's Ear' col...

Christmas Party Stress....

Hello all - I have a 2 (almost 3) year old pittie, Roxy. She is very friendly, I've never had an issue with her biting a human or another dog, but she does get very scared & anxious. She tends to jump up and investigate every sound. When she meets someone she is usually very timid and might move...

My Local Shelter is trying to rebuild

If anyone is around the Rockland County, NY area and can help by volunteering, donating or just supporting the cause. Its an outdated and small shelter and a new one would be awesome! Check it out here.....

Re: Need New Dog Collar? any for sell cheap or for free

No offense taken, its all good. I paid $35 with shipping and its still brand new. I thought $30 (including shipping) was a reasonable offer. Did I overpay or something?

I just got the 1.5" pink collar from stillwater for Roxy and its just too bulky for her. She has worn it for all of 15 minutes. $30?

Re: Wonderful Website

I totally love the look of the soft grip scruff tag collars!

If you end up ordering those soft grip scruff tags please give an update with how they hold up. They seem fairly durable but I would be interested to know how they hold up to a heavy duty puller. :)

Re: Canine Solar Urticaria

I never knew about this either, it was like a freak thing that I ever brought it up to the vet. We had gone down by the river to play with a friend of mine and her 2 pits. After an awesome day of fun in the river (and the sun) I got Roxy home and she just passed out. Well I had to work that night an...

Re: Canine Solar Urticaria

The hives were almost always consistent with what part of her body was in the sun. Any sunscreen made for children that will protect from UVA & UVB with an SPF of at least 50 should protect them from damage related to this issue. Although I do not know yet if it will stop the urticaria or just p...

Canine Solar Urticaria

So I posted a while back about how Roxy was getting these hives whenever she was sitting in the sun. (Original topic: Prickley Heat) She had continued to get them, I wasn't terriblly concerned because they would disappear after being inside for about 30 minutes. To make a long story short, over the ...

Re: Prickly Heat?

I thought hives also but they will go away without benadryl. She only gets them after laying in the sun but a lot of the time she is laying in the sun that comes through the front door, so she is inside the house on the floor. I've checked the area multiple times, no bugs. I will consult the vet, I ...

Prickly Heat?

Okay so Roxy loves to lay in the sun, either outside or near the front door. She will lay in the sun until she is overheating and panting. This has happened once before, but she was laying outside on the concrete and I thought maybe she was bitten by some kind of bug and had an allergic reaction, so...
