Re: Excessive drooling

Right. That's what I'm hoping. The excessive salivating is SUPER unusual... She's never done this before. However, it's really the only symptom. That's why I'm going to give it a couple more days. If it goes on a for a week, then I"ll take her in to have her teeth checked out (although I'm not ...

Excessive drooling

Hi everyone! I tried to see if there was already a topic on this. I apologize if I missed it, and I'm creating a duplicate. :\ My 2 yr old pit mix started drooling excessively all of a sudden Thursday evening. She's not a drooler; this is unusual. She's keeping her mouth slightly open more times tha...

Re: Building up my rescue dog's immune system

I have been using the Grizzly Salmon Oil and have seen definite improvement in both of my dogs. Someone here recommended it and I am so thankful! I get it from Chewy.com and it is only about $15 for the 16oz bottle. I love that website! I love Chewy.com also, and I found the Grizzly there too, and ...

Re: Building up my rescue dog's immune system

Thank you for your thoughts and your advice. I will get salmon oil for her. I will also do more research on her food and maybe find a better one. Any salmon oil is okay, or do you recommend any certain brand? http://www.amazon.com/Grizzly-All-Natural-Supplement-Pump-Bottle-Dispenser/dp/B0002ABR6E" o...

Building up my rescue dog's immune system

Hi all! :hi I'm loving this forum; I have come across several very helpful ideas. Thanks a bunch. My current task with my girl, Jessie, is researching building up her immune system. When I first got her she got kennel cough within a week going to a daycare. I have been having her go on lots of hikes...

Re: OFFICIAL ear cropping/tail docking debate thread

I'm glad to find this thread because I was/am so confused.
A guy came up to me on the street basically demanding that I cut my dog's ears. When I asked him nicely WHY I should cut my dog's ears he couldn't explain.

Re: Top 5 Foods

Thank you so much for your analysis.
In other words, not the best food? :\ I'm a little overwhelmed with all of the information in this thread. Thank you though, I am going to look into further. I want to feed her what's best for her. I'm sure I'll be back with questions.

Re: Top 5 Foods

Pet Food Ratings I have been asked to rate both dry and raw foods. The dry foods will be listed in order of quality with an explanation of why it rates where it does. At the top of my list with 4 stars is raw or BARF. It’s the most appropriate for dogs to eat, easiest for them to digest, and though...

Re: Pet Insurance

Red , Miss Kitty , good to hear about Healthy Paws. That is the insurance company that my rescue recommended. Although I have not bought a policy yet; I'm still deciding. Anyone here not necessarily recommend insurance? What are other great companies where you're getting rates in the $25 range? Hea...

Re: Hello from Los Angeles.

Hi Jamie! :) So you would like my intro to be longer? I adopted Jessie over the weekend, so she's all mine. Very excited (overwhelmed, as well, but excited). I'm from the Chicago area and grew up with family dogs, but Jessie is my first. We're going to go to obedience class. She's awesome, and liste...

Hello from Los Angeles.

Hi everyone :hi My name is Jamie. I live in Los Angeles, and I'm fostering a pit bull mix who I've named Jessie (likely mixed with boston terrier). She's such a joy. I'm going to talk to the rescue about adopting her this weekend. I'm here to learn as much as I can, get some advice, and hopefully sh...
