Re: HELP HELP HELP: To neuter or not to neuter?!?

We've decided to wait until he's fully trained :) sometimes you just want to bring all of them home... Update: He's doing much better with his training! We've been going somewhere new four or five times a week, like Home Depot or Wal Mart, to get him accustomed to crowds and loud noises. He's doing ...

Re: HELP HELP HELP: To neuter or not to neuter?!?

Gunnar LOVES other dogs...he plays very well with others. My only concern is that he'll bond with the other dog more than with my boyfriend and I and lose interest in training. Have you had this happen?

Re: HELP HELP HELP: To neuter or not to neuter?!?

I think so, too :) This is off topic, but my boyfriend and I have been tossing around the idea of a second dog sometime next year...do you think that's a good idea? By then, Gunnar should be fully trained and could really use a friend. I've heard a lot of cons about getting a second dog, though...is...

Re: HELP HELP HELP: To neuter or not to neuter?!?

Are those Malinois?? So beautiful! We've started going to a new place every day and working. I'm actually working towards training him as a service dog, so he now has a vest with 'in training' patches. This really really helps people know not to approach us, and it makes training so much easier! htt...

Re: HELP HELP HELP: To neuter or not to neuter?!?

We start our serious public training on Tuesday...he's an Emotional Support Dog and his vest gets here on Tuesday. We've tried it before, but EVERYONE we pass wants to talk to me and wants to pet him and it sets us back. He's very friendly, but I don't want him to pay attention to other people when ...

Re: HELP HELP HELP: To neuter or not to neuter?!?

Thanks! I'm so glad his previous owners didn't crop them off...they really add to his personality.

He had his first professional lesson today! He did wonderfully and we learned a lot. The two biggest things we're working on is recall and adjusting to public places (he gets a little nervous)

Re: HELP HELP HELP: To neuter or not to neuter?!?

Thank you so much for your advise! We discussed it more and we agree...I found a local trainer that we're going to work with instead. I've stepped up his exercise and he's a lot calmer :) I've only ever had fixed male dogs, so I wasn't quite prepared.

Lets see how it goes!

HELP HELP HELP: To neuter or not to neuter?!?

I need advise!! I have a wonderful, blue nose pit named Gunnar. We adopted him when he was 3 months old and now that he's 8 months, alas, he's become a dog. He doesn't have a problem with marking or humping (yet) but has suddenly become very destructive and does not pay attention to me while trainin...

No more heat spots and rashes!

I wish pitties weren't so prone to skin issues, but alas, they are. I just want to share my experience with what has worked for me with my little guy. Gunnar is 4 months old and shortly after I got him, he developed an awful red rash on his under belly and in his armpits. His hind legs were horribly...

Re: Peeing: How often is too often?

He's been to the vet once, but is going again for the rest of his shots. He's crate trained, he loved it from the very first day and hardly required any extra work for it at all :) I'll mention it to the vet when we go again, fingers crossed that its just a puppy thing! Thanks for all the advise guy...

Re: Peeing: How often is too often?

Four times a day, morning, afternoon, late afternoon, evening. He gets about 2 cups a day of Purina Pro Plan. I'm glad to hear its normal though, its been a long time since I've had a puppy this little :) anybody have any tips for getting him house trained more efficiently? I was thinking about bell...

Peeing: How often is too often?

Hey guys! So I got my little fella, Gunnar, about three weeks ago. He's almost 4 months old now, but since I've gotten him, he seems to be having a worse and worse time with potty training. I was taking him out every 3-4 hours and he wasn't having a problem, but within this past week, he goes every ...

Newbie!

Hey everybody! My name is Kaila and I stumbled upon this forum while looking for a good community of Pit lovers like myself. About two weeks ago, I adopted my little guy, Gunnar. He is almost 4 months old and a pure bred Staffordshire. My boyfriend and I have just moved to Texas and one of my movers...
