Re: How do you turn it off?

If I had an answer, I probably wouldnt have burned out for real this time. I have never found someone that has a healthy relationship with their job when they work in animal welfare. And not to be repetitive or suggest this is the only way out, but like Alison, I didnt realize the toll and huge sacr...

Re: Mast Cell Tumors : Lessons Learned

I should have joined this last year.....Bean had his tail amputated this time last year due to a MCT that was towards the base of his tail. We have a new bump that popped up this week that will be removed this next week. It has a few mast cells in it but it also has tons of inflammatory cells so who...

Re: Yucky swollen toe

Beans toes do that every 6 mos or so, we have never been able to figure out what he gets in to or what the foreign body is. Epsom soaks are great, easiest way I have found is place both front feet in a litter box (clean obviously) for 10min twice a day until resolved. With systemic abx and an NSAID....

Re: For the love of God Newton!

For those that have been following Newton over the years and our many escapades, we had to say our goodbyes last thursday.

He was with me and his dad until the end and went to sleep doing what he loved most.....eating a tennis ball.

Re: Diabetic dog questions?

We dont recommend human meters as there can be a big difference in tracking when not species specific. I have found http://www.alphatrackmeter.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to have tons of useful information wih videos. Are they not treating the pancreatitis? As a diabetic they ...

Love my boy and thanks guys, him having his own cheering squad and a place to vent is awesome as i am sure my coworkers are sick of me always being the pesemistic one. Re: Bean has an ultrasound tomorrow

Going to be a long weekend. Ultrasound did not find anything too scary. Took aspirates of spleen to make sure his MCT had not met, didnt show any MCT but a reactive spleen. So he is just compensating for his drop in rbcs and hct. Another odd thing is that is stomach is not emptying.....no change to ...

Bitter Apple, franks red hot, rooster sauce, lemon juice, lime juice, horseradish, alum, EVERYTHING. Pretty sure its just flavoring to him.

They are, locked in ammo cans but not numbered, thats a great idea. This last issue he got on the table and into her bag. This is a dog who cant jump up into the car to save his life but he got on a high top table. The bag is usually in a closet where it has returned. Last month he decided he was go...

Re: For the love of God Newton!

Can you get a locker at the training facility and keep the balls out of your home? Nope, gotta train here too. The tennis balls arent the only issues, there really is no way to Newton proof this house. You do not know when he is going to obsess over something and half the time you dont know what. H...

Re: Buddy Girl needs some good thoughts.

If you have a Butler Schein rep you should be able to. Great training treats too, 1 kcal per treat and they can be broken into four pieces.
