My dog had similar sores between her toes and it was caused by a yeast infection due to grain allergies.

Re: Who's used Proin?
My dog is on something similar to Proin (it has the same active ingredient - phenylpropanolamine), it's called Propalin here and it comes in the form of a syrup. We started her on it a couple of years ago when she started having some problems with incontinence. It actually went away after we used up...

Re: Need harness help for serious puller!
The use of this particular prong collar will NOT cause any irritation or harm to your dog's neck. However, using any other brand will harm your dog (as the prong I initially bought was NOT a Sprenger). Well that's a pile of BS... Sprenger collars are exactly the same as any other collars, they are ...

Re: Killing Our pets with every meal.....
Some good dog food choices would be: Good? Really? How did you come up with that list? Those are some of the worst dog foods on the market btw, filled with grains and by products with very little meat, not something you should be feeding your dog. If you want some good guidelines for dog food quali...

Re: Molly has a MCT near a lymph node
Oh wow, you two really have been through a lot... Id' try cooking her meals untill she recovers, when Brina had her last surgery a year ago I had her on raw but she developed such a horrible diarrhea, I started cooking her meals. I never went back to raw, because she didn't do that well on it, but y...

Thanks everybody. Yeah it doesn't look good, but it's healing and it doesn't look infected so that's good.

Re: Help...Licking issue, getting worst.
Only licking that one spot? Personally I would clear out medical first, get a checkup and possibly xray done of the area. This. And put an e-collar (the cone, not the electrical collar) on her to prevent her from licking. http://www.petmd.com/dog/general-health/evr_dg_acral_lick_granuloma_a_dermato...

Busted Tail Tip
So Brina somehow managed to injure her tail. I have no idea how, because she's never been huge on tail wagging, plus she hasn't been crated for at least a couple of months now and I know smacking the tail against the wire crate is the most common cause of happy tail. So I don't know what she did to ...

Re: Molly has a MCT near a lymph node
When my Brina had a MCT right on top of a lymph node on her hind leg a couple of years ago they removed it along with the lymph node. It was grade II, but she never had any MCT related problems since then, the surgery took care of it completely. I would wait for the results and go from there.

Re: NON-squeak soft toys?
KONG has some really nice plush toys. Some have squeakers, some don't. But you could easily remove the squeakers from the toys who have them. Just take them out and stitch the toy back up.

Re: Toy destruction
Brina never really liked toys, except the ones filled with food. She never destroyed anything, when she gets the food out of a toy she loses interest in it. Jaka is a weird one when it comes to toys, he rarely destroys anything, not on purpose at least. Tennis balls get chewed up during fetch, but o...

Re: Hair growth
Yup, tried salmon oil, coconut oil. olive oil, flaxseed oil... Nothing really made a difference. :( The vets just say that hair sometimes grows back and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know why this time it didn't grow back. It's weird, we removed a couple of lumps four months earlier than her larynge...

Re: Canned vs. Dry food
A good alternative to raw is a home cooked diet. My special needs senior didn't do well on raw so I switched her to a home cooked diet and grain free kibble. She gets one home cooked meal (a mixture of cooked vegetables and meat) in the morning and grain free kibble (Orijen Senior) in the evening, b...

Hair growth
So it's been almost a year since Brina's laryngeal paralysis surgery and the hair on her neck still hasn't grown back. Her hair always grew back after surgeries and she's been shaved a lot over the years. But this time her neck is still completely bald. Weird. Are there any supplements I could give ...
