Thanks, Odnarb... Healthypet.com seems like a generally useful site, and the "find an accredited vet" feature is really nice. I see that Chambers Creek and Columbia are both listed. You're right, Violet -- Columbia is way more convenient to my house. All else being equal (which it rarely i...

The aahanet directory seems open only to members of the AAHA. Thanks for the suggestion, though, Misswiki.

Thanks for the recommendations, Violet -- I will check out Columbia and Chamber Creek. (The Button signage kind of gives me the willies...)

Two days ago, there was SB 866, outlawing BSL state-wide. Yesterday brought H1686, introducing BSL statewide.

What's going on in MO??

Further demonstration that anonymous Internet polling is not a rational way to shape public policy, at least in a democracy. Thanks for the courage to tell the truth.

It must be unpleasant to be under the dominion of a disagreeable parent. Well, on the bright side, you'll have time to do more detailed research and look for less expensive sources of quality meats, so you'll be more thoroughly prepared when time comes. (Note to self -- what is this "they do sh...

Let's see, you started Wednesday, and now it's Sunday -- day 5. When you say they're doing excellent, that means what? They ate it up, no puking, no diarrhea? You people who feed part raw and part kibble -- are you feeding one in the morning and the other in the evening, or are you feeding them some...

I'm not in rescue, and I'm new to the breed, so my free opinion may be worth every penny. I would attach more conditions, and if they meet those conditions, let them adopt (with the standard contract about returning the dog in case of problems etc.). Everything in life is risky to some degree or oth...

Is she on antibiotics? I seem to recall that Rocco had "accidents" in the house while he was on antibiotics, found out later that was a typical side-effect of that particular kind of drug (wish I could remember exactly what it was called).

Don't the sardines have a net weight on the label?

(I used to date a b.i.t.c.h. -- beautiful, intelligent, talented, courageous, and honest, as her favorited t-shirt proudly proclaimed. Though from your description, maybe it wouldn't fit your mother.)

Seeking veterinarian, Tacoma WA

We live in Tacoma's Hilltop neighborhood -- a little southwest from downtown. Our regular vet is out in Puyallup, a ways past South Hill Mall... looks close a map, but in weekday traffic, it's a truly hellish drive. Since the genius vet who used to work there has returned to Canada, I'd like to fin...

Thanks for the diary!

I'll be reading with interest, since I'm seriously considering going raw. GF is dubious about parasites and bacteria and cost. I'm dubious about cost (I figure they're evolved to deal with bacteria, and to some degree parasites...). Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
