. Has anyone tried the new Premium Edge Adult Dog Skin & Coat kibble? I used to feed the Adult Chicken Premium Edge and it was a decent food. I see they have improved a lot of the formulas and brought out this new food for dogs with skin problems. It looks like a good food to me, it has Salmon and S...

. Glad you found out the problem and that Taurus is doing better. The only thing I can add is that powdered kelp is a good supplement and it helps thyroid conditions. I buy it at my local health food store, it is about $3.50 a pound and a pound goes a long ways. I put about a 1/2 teaspoon in her foo...

. I lost many of my dog links in a computer failure a few months ago so I don't seem to have the one on Rimadyl. But here is one on APBT health and they may have some info there. http://www.apbtconformation.com/APBT_Health_Center.html Please note that Cuddles, the dog the site is named after had onl...

.
Be very careful giving Rimadyl. It can have very bad side effects which can be permanent.

I don't have links at hand, but try searching goggle for "Rimadyl dog" and see what you can find on it. I know it's bad news and I would not give it to my dog!

. I read that Canidae changed their food slightly a few months ago. Could that be the cause of the itchy problems? I don't feed Canidae but always felt it was a good food. I found Innova and Wellness a bit too rich. I've been feeding Innova mixed half & half with CA Natural for the last year and...

Be careful with tennis balls and similar balls...

. Be very careful with tennis balls and other balls similar in size. The article below was written by a friend of mine and it happened as stated to her young GSD. She was lucky, she saved her dog and learned from it, her beautiful dog is now 8 years old. I hope reading this will help save other dogs...

. Hey Moto, sorry to hear this, hope Ms Daisy is much better tomorrow. Wish I had read the whole thread sooner.... I've been told by a number of knowledgeable folks that feeding some cotton balls soaked in milk will coat the sharp bones so they pass thru easier. One fellow had a pit who ate a light ...

. Well, I think the key to the prices mentioned above is "the vet where i work" as customers don't get the same prices by any means. In the town I am in currently, it costs $200 just to walk in the door as a new patient and this is what they call the "initial" visit, not including if your dog is sic...

. Try searching ebay for the Frontline, it is usually much cheaper there. You can not get the Heartguard without a prescription from your vet and many vets don't like to give you one since they would rather sell the medicine to you at a higher price. If you can get a Rx from your vet, there are seve...

. That first recipe is a good one! I have used the kibble and peanut butter and frozen it, she loves it, but darn she is quick to get it all licked out. How do your dogs takes to "un-stuff" a frozen Kong toy? I timed mine once, she had it clean in 10 minutes... I wish the holes were a little smaller...

. Yes, it sounds like her digestive system is still upset from her illness. Besides looking for a better quality food than Pedigree, you might give her several small meals during the day. Cook up some rice and boiled chicken meat, give her some of that. Plus add a few spoons of canned pumpkin to her...

For burlap, if Home Depot does not have it, try a tree farm or nursery. They use burlap for balling up young trees. Maybe even a hardware store would have it.

LOL, I just posted on the first "flirtpole" thread.... They are easy to make, so here it is again: Flirtpoles are great toys! My dog loves hers... I've always made my own. The PVC pipe as posted above is fine and works well but I like to use a bamboo pole. I am lucky in that bamboo grows wild where ...

Flirtpoles are great toys! My dog loves hers... I've always made my own. The PVC pipe as posted above is fine and works well but I like to use a bamboo pole. I am lucky in that bamboo grows wild where I live so, if it breaks, I can just cut another one. They are pretty sturdy, my current one is abou...

Here's one of the most useful sites I have found for info on the different brands of dog foods: http://www.doberdogs.com/menu.html You'd want to look for one which has a lot of meat sources in the first few ingredients such as Canidae, Innova, Wellness, CA Natural, Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover, et...
