Hello!

Postby Pitbull-Mastiff » Sun Feb 22, 2009 6:16 pm

Hi, Im Colin and I am brand new to the site. I just recently got a APBT about a week ago and she is a wonderful girl! her name is lola and she is a 7 1/2 week old blue nose pitbull and she is a very lovey girl. I am from Philadelphia, Pa and this is my first pitbull. I am used to having other "high agression" breeds but never owned a pitbull. I have had dobermans and mastiffs and currently have a 4 yr old mastiff Caine. I would like to get tips and tricks to raising a friendly beatiful girl. I look foreward to participating in the forums and taking in everything!

thanks!
Colin

It was on valentines day, me and my girlfriend were at petco and she saw a guy walk in with a tiny blue nosed pit. So she goes up to him and asks about the dog and we find out there was more to the litter. he gave us the breeders number and we went over right away. The breeders were very nice people and they asked us a bunch of questions asked us about our home and our experience with dogs of the breed and after the tutorial they took us to the puppies. We payed with 5-6 pups and we decided to take the blue girl. We then met their mom and dad and were pleased with how sweet both of them were, even around their pups. So we took her home and the rest is history.

welcome to the forum!

Im in philly too. Good luck with your puppy, I do hope you know that no reputable breeder would give/sell you a puppy under 8 weeks old. In fact if you got her a week and a half ago on valentines day, and shes 7&1/2 weeks now, then she was only 6 weeks when you brought her home which i am pretty sure is illegal. Ideally she would of stayed with her mom for another 6 weeks so her mom could nurture her and teach her proper puppy manners.

If you havent already, make sure you take your puppy to the vet ASAP to make sure everything is ok, and talk to your vet about anything they might suggest that you do with a puppy so young just to be safe.

good luck with your girl, this is a good place to learn, btw she is super cute!

Yes I know this, but she is in a very good place with good people. She has been to the vet and she is healthy as an ox. This is the first thing we did when we got her. She is a very spunky little girl... so spunky that my mastiff runs away from her when she tries to come near him... imagine watching 165lb dog run from a 9lb dog haha
