I'm a Humane Officer from Reading, Pennsylvania with one pitbull mix and few other miscellaneous dogs ;)

Sorry I couldn't reply to your earlier PM...you guys have strict permissions around here. The reason for the earlier confusion was pretty simple. The last GSD bite, which occurred on 31 Dec, wasn't actually reported until 1/2/2008.

Of course, everything's still up in the air until the Animal Control Board meeting on the 22nd. But I'm pretty confident that not only will the law not go into effect this year, but that City Council may finally take a hard look at a better ordinance that's more fair to dogs and their owners.

Just think, tybalt, your city council could be on the leading edge of ordinances. If they take the oportunity to have an ordinance that's fair to ALL breeds & owners, it might be the model for other localities to follow suit.

You should try to urge them on by telling them that.
