For Ella.

Postby chewbecca » Sat May 22, 2010 4:25 pm

As most of you know, Ella has this...well, thing on her.
Almost two weeks ago, we woke to find Ella's right lymph node in her neck swollen to the size of a tennis ball.
Took her to the vet, he tried to aspirate it, he couldn't get much because whatever it is clogged the needle. But he managed to get a big splotch once he got the needle unclogged.
She also appeared to have three bumps that he swore were mast cell tumors (she has had to have a mast cell tumor removed before).
Here is what she looked like on that day with the swollen mass:
Image

He was certain it was her lymph node.
So he put her on antibiotics, he sent off samples to the lab, and he called us the following day.
Told us it was not looking like cancer and her white blood cells "couldn't be more normal"

well, to make an long story shorter, we tried prednisone and 2 rounds of antibiotics.
The swelling has come down some, and he was able to aspirate some liquid from it last week, but the lab results are coming back basically inconclusive and that it's a big mass of necrotic tissue (or large amounts of necrotic tissue).
They can't know what it is at this point, because it's just a big mass. He said we could do a biopsy, but he advised that we just go in and remove the entire thing for her safety, and so that the lab can figure out WHAT it is and what its origin is. And a biopsy wasn't going to be much cheaper to do and if it IS something that needs to be removed, the feeling I get is that doing a biopsy, waiting for results, then doing this and that, I just think it's best that it's removed from her.

He basically ruled out cancer last time, but he said today that he cannot be certain until the lab can test the mass.
He also said today that they are not even certain that it's her lymph node anymore.

So, with surgery next week, and costs of this all, we are looking to run a sale to off set some of the costs of it all.
We are NOT looking for donations. :))
If you decide to take advantage of the sale, you will receive the same quality product, in the same timely fashion that we are known for. :))
So, please punch in the code: ForElla20 to receive 20% off your purchase with Ella's Lead. http://www.ellaslead.com

And please keep your fingers crossed and/or keep Ella in your prayers that this is NOT something too serious.

Thank you!

Thanks, guys! Miss Ella appreciates the healing vibes, and so do we! :))

Adrianne-
I thought of your little one when I made this collar. It's a ready-to-walk collar. It's called "The Turquoise Cuteness".
It's ADORABLE! And made to fit a 8 1/2"-10" neck.
And now it's on sale...

Hmmm...I have an extra $50 from Christmas and I have been thinking about getting Tank a single leather collar since his 2 inch Stillwater collar is too heavy duty for everyday wear(I use it on walks). I am just not really sure what would look nice on a solid black, longhaired dog.

I wish Zoey would hurry and grow up so I can buy her a nice collar or two!

Thanks, guys!!!

Mya-
Anything looks good on a black dog. :))
That's one of the great things about having one!
You could do black and add some conchos have the concho stand out on the collar.
Or you could do a different colored leather. Trust, whatever you choose will look great on him. ;)

Kayten-
Yes, you can cross post, and I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!! :))

awh poor Ella. I wish I could say I haven't seen this several times before at work. I hope she is alright, keep us updated!

I'd like to order a lead with a traffic handle but am having a hard time picking out the right rope/color. I was thinking lilac (because its purple) but it might be too much with her color. Is the magenta heart photo true to color?

this is her collar.

also how long is the sell going for?

Dresden-

Yes, the magenta heart lead is true to color in the photo. :))
I think it would look great with that collar. :))

I'm going to run the sale for at least this week.

Thank you!!
