Agility training in Michigan

Postby diana247 » Wed Jul 07, 2010 9:06 am

I would really like to get my puppy Maggie started in agility. In her puppy classes, she has shown a strong desire and athleticism towards the obstacles so I think it would be great for her. The instructors are amazed at how quick she catches on and does things with no fear. She is just over 6 months old and right now I have her at the Canine Workshop. I'm not sure if there are any other places around the area (Harrison Twp, Clinton Twp, etc.) and that are pit bull friendly of course :)
I've also thought about dock diving since she is completed obsessed with water, just not sure how to even start that!
Thanks for any input!

Diana

Sportsmens Dog Training Center is GREAT!!!!! The agility instructors have some of the top ranking dogs in their respective breeds in the country. http://sportsmens.net/ And they are SUPER pittie friendly! I've done some Obed training there, as well as some other members on this forum that live in the area.

For dock diving check out Currey's http://www.curreysfamilypetcare.com/ or Bark About http://www.barkabout.net/ I don't know much about either of these places though.

http://pawsitivevybe.com/ is located in Cedar Srpings, MI. Keep in mind, I don't know much about these trainers other than what I've seen on their YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/k9disc).

Nevermind my suggestion, I didn't check the distance until after I posted. It's 3 hours from you.

I've heard nothing but the best about these folks from a wide variety of dog sport folks.

FY:I Currey's has a dog swim class coming up, and they allow the owners to get in the water with the dog! But classes are very limited.

Currey's is also insanely priced for any practice time.
