We used Vertex for a while, but just recently switched to K9 Super Fuel.

Is that the new name for power chow? I have used that in the past, but not power boost. I didn't use power chow too much since vertex always seemed adequate. I still have some I think.

I have used Vertex. In general, I don't think my dogs are working hard enough to need a recovery supplement. Only time I've really seen them tired was a couple weeks ago when he had 2 agility training/play sessions and then went lure coursing, that did knock them down for 24 hours or so. And when we did WP, I noticed they couldn't pull as much the 2nd day, but I think that was more likely muscle soreness, they still had plenty of energy.

So, I don't bother with any of it now. I do keep the Vertex around because I use it at agility trials, I give my dog a little Vertex in water (what I call "juice") before and after each run to make sure they are drinking enough water.

I am like Tracy - used all kinds of stuff but not that Jake is 8.5 I am a little leary in using some of it.
I too do the CoQ10

Hey Tracy - why applesauce ? And why no bones? I try to feed extra during flyball weekends b/c Jake gets excitement squirts ;-)

Hey Charlotte - how much raw honey do you give Molly post workout?

I have also heard sardines are good in am and mid day during work days

"Always feed fish additives in the morning as this is a food that is considered to brighten the dogs’ energy level and attitude. As a snack for hard working dogs, the sardine can be given through late afternoon.
..works well for use during high activity as a snack, going into the system quickly to give you the added boost needed to do their job, be it showing in the conformation ring or in the field, tracking, herding or running agility with the added benefit of keeping the dog from overheating, almost as if you added coolant to the dogs radiator. "

I also do arnica - 3 days before event, during, and 3 days after event.

I've used RF-1 and Vertex with good results. Gonna give k9 Super Fuel a try next year.

EXACTLY the same here. Both used, liked them. But I like the Super Fuel, too.

I like the sugars and the moisture in it. It's just apples and water for processing and comes in those nifty 3oz. squeeze tubes that are recloseable. I wanted something simple, easy to keep on hand and transport that gave them a little extra during the day. We've been doing those marathon tournaments (Need 4 Speed) or ones in really warm locations (Bishop). I like to cut wraps, take off gloves, offer water, walk them out and then turn the fan on them and offer applesauce.

The bones thing I learned from Steph from the whippet people. Funny enough, I've always done if with Hank because he dislikes pooping on leash and tends towards constipation at tournaments. Bones just make both of those worse!

Plus I just find boneless hunks of meat easier to deal with during tournaments.

I've been trying to find a place that sells it online, but I don't think k9 Super fuel is available in Canada. Does anyone know? If it isn't, is there a similar product that is available??

Thanks for the read. Why arnica?
