Red and slightly bumpy scrotum

Postby JurisMyDiction » Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:41 am

guys, i am wondering if this is anything to be tremendously worried about. he's getting neutered a week from today (Tuesday), and i would imagine that the doctor will do a checkup and prescribe me some incredibly expensive cream or something to put on them. my question is does this look abnormal and should it be ok until nest Tuesday... they are always red but they look a tad raw lately and also have some barely visible spots on them. they are also always HUGE like that. my friends make fun of it all the time. (it could be that we have been fostering an in-tact female for the past 2 weeks and he has, dare i say, blue .....? you know) he doesn't lick much more than usual but i'd be willing to bet that it's because of the female (who is probably close to a heat)

yes, i took pictures, get over it.. lol

oh my strange doggy swollen porn (sorry I wasnt over it.. lol)

BUT,, yes they do look red and swollen. I would call the vet and just see what they say since they are coming off next week, BUT if there is a serious infection they might have to postpone it.

Could he have chapped skin? I don't know if you have snow where you live, but it can irritate and make skin red, and then they lick it more.

Define "pretty cold" lol

I doubt they are chapped, given your location...I haven't seen too many chapped scrotums up this way, and it gets much colder up here for extended periods of time.

a quick way to tell if they are infected is to feel them. Are they hot??

And be sure to post a picture roflmao roflmao

This thread was borderline not work safe to begin with. Pics of you fondling them will surely put it over the edge and make viewing this thread illegal in some states. lol

Sorry, had to say it, but yes, definitely check with your vet. they do look swollen.

Sonnys get like that sometimes, then it goes away. It has never seemed to bother him. I figured it was normal and more noticable because he has light colored skin.

Let me know what the vet says!

I always thought it was from him licking them. Plus it comes and goes. There are not bumps, just red. It looks like bumps, but its not. Just the skin is red.

So, dont get to worried, you arent alone!
