Tell me about CET chews

The titles says it all, are they worth it? I'm not looking for my dogs but I know of some dogs who need some help with their old teeth.

CET is a good company and I like their products. I'm not sure they are any more effective than Greenies, which I recommend all the time.

I have occasionally seen dogs vomit after eating the rawhide chews, dogs that don't normally vomit after eating regular rawhide strips.

As with all dental treatments, nothing is as good as brushing and a quality dental prophylaxis, just like chewing gum won't prevent a visit to the human dentist forever.

They currently feed greenies all the time. i encourage a good raw rib bone as often as possible but mostly they stick to the greenies. I just see and smell nasty toothers so I was considering the CET chews as a gift. I went to the plaque off site but I get an error when I try to access their product page. :/

I would go the raw bone route, but I know some people are wigged out by the idea.

What is CET? Website?

This is the product:

It really does work. Tully's teeth had enough plaque that I had them cleaned when she was spayed at 4. A few months later, I started this product, and she's never needed another teeth cleaning (that was 5 years ago). Tess' teeth were also starting to accumulate a little, so I started her on this, and she has sparkling white teeth. I've often gone several months without using it, but then I get around to buying more, and start again.

It lasts a long time. With giving it to the 2 girls, probably about 4 months. A bigger dog needs a bigger dose, of course.

I ordered it on your recommendation Sarah. It has good reviews on Amazon too.
My dogs hate having their teeth brushed (because I never did it right away - totally my fault) so I'm hoping it will work like everyone says. Paws crossed. :peace:

After buying the CET chews for a while I decided I didn't like them. Riley is normally a "bite and swallow" kind of eater so I figured the rawhide wouldn't be a good option for her, and I was right.... she'd chew just long enough to get it a little soggy then try to swallow it whole. After having to pull it out of her throat a couple of times, that was it for her. But even my other dogs who like to chew and take their time struggled with the CETs. They were constantly choking on the damn things.

Thank you, I'll try the plaque off stuff then for mine also and I'll gift it as well hopefully they'll remember it every so often.

It looks like you just sprinkle it on the food right? Simple huh?

Yes, it comes with a little scoop to measure it, and you just put it on the food. My dogs apparently find it very tasty, as someone (think it was Tully) once stole a jar of it and ate the whole thing. She had green, leafy poo for a couple days.

Ditto to that one. We have used 'Plaque Off' for years and with excellent results. Even as our dogs age (Esperanza is now about 10 years old), their teeth look wonderful, e.g., clean.
