Looks like a cyst but they are rarely bright red like that.. has he been chewing on it?

My dog gets fire ant bites that look like that but about 1/4 the size.. I dunno.. I would keep an eye on it if it continues to bother him or you I would call the vet

no he cant reach it. i thought it might be some kinda bite or blood blister. i hate to admit it, but ive squezzed it a few times and only blood comes out(not with ease).

That would explain the color... Its probably just a cyst.. Just keep an eye on it still :) maybe someone else has better insight

If its growing, you should have a vet take a look at it. They should stick a needle in it, pull out some cells and look at them under a microscope. Thats usually enough to tell if it needs to come off or not...

Any strange bumbs that appear on the dogs, I get exactly this done. It's pretty fast and not expensive. It's sooo worth peace of mind.

Blu has little bumps like that but they are pink and are allergy related.

I would definitely get it checked out, that color red looks painful

I've had a few of those removed from my dog. They just freeze the area and use a punch and stitch it up. They will send the bump out for testing. That way if more pop up you will know what they are.
